You can start a new named, unrestricted fund, by pledge, by December 31, 2025, with only $1,667 paid over the next two years and your match establishes the fund upon receipt of a completed pledge!!!

Additionally, Qualified Charitable Distributions (typically from an IRA) qualify for 100% of the adjusted gross income of the donor who itemizes! (IRS.gov, Temporary Suspension of Limits on Charitable Contributions.) You could start your own fund with a QCD.

Don’t want to start your own fund? Just use the pledge form to donate to any unrestricted fund listed or donate any amount through our online giving portal or by mailing a check by December 31. 2025, and we will triple the value of your pledge.

Establishing or donating to an unrestricted grantmaking fund now means that Crawford County nonprofits, those who serve our community, our friends and our neighbors, will receive annual support -FOREVER!  

As always, the Community Foundation of Crawford County (CFCC) explores the laws and methods that will best assist our donors.

With the recent passage of the One Big Beautiful Bill (OBBB), we discovered that pledging donations to the CFCC by 12/31/25 and paying them in 2026 and 2027 is most advantageous to donors who do not itemize.

In 2026 and 2027, you can claim a donation of $1,000 for a single person or $2,000 for a couple over and above the standard deduction, commonly referred to as an “above the line” deduction. (See IRS.GOV for more information and check with your tax advisor.)

Pledges to establish or give to an existing unrestricted fund must be completed by December 31, 2025 to qualify for a triple the value match.
