For the tenth year in a row, the Crawford County Youth Philanthropy Council (YPC), a program of the Community Foundation of Crawford County (CFCC), completed the process of selecting well-deserving organizations to receive the grant awards. The Council this year was comprised of Crawford County High School students: Devin Decker, Hays Ferriell, Wyatt Hensley, and Levi Richardson

The YPC met with Community Foundation staff to learn more about the nonprofits serving Crawford County. Following this, the committee made grant recommendations to the CFCC board of directors.

Grantees
The YPC funded five different organizations: Boys & Girls Club of Harrison-Crawford Counties, Crawford County Youth Expo, Crawford County High School, Friends of Marengo Big Springs Old Town Church, and Southern Indiana Community Healthcare.

• The grant to the Boys & Girls Club of Harrison-Crawford Counties was awarded to assist Crawford County children/students
• The grant to the Crawford County Youth Expo was awarded to support the annual Crawford County Youth Expo
• The grant to Crawford County High School was awarded to support student aid for field trips.
• The grant to Friends of Marengo Big Springs Old Town Church was awarded to support renovation efforts.
• The grant to Southern Indiana Community Healthcare was awarded to support healthcare for Crawford County residents.

The students had the opportunity to learn more about each organization throughout this process while also learning more about the nonprofit structure of the CFCC.

The Crawford County Youth Philanthropy Council is a grant making program designed to empower the youth of Crawford County to review and recommend grants that will provide a meaningful impact to the community. The YPC works with the Community Foundation of Crawford County to learn about servant leadership, volunteerism, the important role philanthropy plays in our community, and assisting in the ultimate goal of making generosity last forever.

The Crawford County YPC Grant cycle is made possible by the Crawford County Youth Philanthropy Endowment created through the generosity of our donors and the fundraising efforts of the CFCC. This fund annually pays out to local non-profit organizations during the YPC Grant Cycle.

The Community Foundation of Crawford County was founded in April 1998 by a volunteer Board of Directors that represented a variety of interests in Crawford County. To date, the CFCC has awarded more than $9 million in grants for programs/projects supporting Crawford County children and youth, education, housing, health and human services, the environment, technology advancements, literacy and the arts, and has awarded well over $3 million in scholarships benefiting Crawford County students. The CFCC currently manages more than 100 charitable funds on behalf of families, individuals, corporations and non-profit organizations.
