Finance & Programs Manager Job Description

The Finance & Programs Manager is responsible for the general accounting and programs/projects (grants and scholarships) of the Community Foundation of Crawford County and will report to the Executive Director. The Finance & Programs Manager will work closely with the Executive Director, with ultimate oversight from the Board of Directors. The Finance & Programs Manager is responsible for managing CFCC databases and record management associated with banking, scholarships, and grantmaking.
QUALIFICATIONS:

- Bookkeeping or Accounting Experience or education
- Strong interpersonal, analytic and writing skills
- Excellent data analysis skills and strong attention to detail
- Be organized and exhibit accountability and “follow through” on tasks and goals
- A bachelor’s degree in a related field or related experience
- Working knowledge of akoyaGO software is a plus. AkoyaGO is a foundation software company.
Primary Job Responsibilities:
- Manage CFCC cloud-based CRM, and Accounting Database and Business Central
- Oversee and/or enter all gifts into system
- Oversee/record bank deposits and verify accuracy of data
- Verify financial accounting in CRM/Business Central
- Record accounts payable and process accounts payable checks
- Process distributions
- Print donor letters and financial statements
- Coordinate with fund manager, auditors, and other professional service providers as related to our system
- Manage CFCC Banking Processes
- Monitor checkbooks and accounts
- Complete banking reconciliations
- Collaborate with fund manager and local bank to process all transactions
- Prepare trial balance, reports and work closely with auditor(s) and contracted staff
- Manage/Coordinate CFCC Scholarships with support from Education Committee:
- Determine available-to-grant figures for all scholarship funds based on reports from fund manager, determine scholarships to be offered during the upcoming scholarship season, set award amounts for each scholarship based on available-to-grant figures and scholarship policy, and review/update application form
- Manage scholarship selection processes, including the Education & Scholarship Committee meetings
- Coordinate payout and prepare check requests; prepare correspondence and mail checks to colleges
- Notify scholarship recipients when payment has been mailed to colleges
- Manage/coordinate CFCC Grantmaking with Support from Grants Committee for all Grants (open competitive cycles as well as proactive and designated grants):
- Determine available-to-grant figures based on reports from fund manager, determine grants available for grant cycle, and set grant amounts
- Update/maintain grant application/instructions
- Complete technical review of grant applications (501(c)(3) verification, operational board of directors, filing of financials with IRS, etc.)
- Support grant selection process, including Grants Committee meetings
- Prepare grant agreements and coordinate payouts
- Review grant reports
- Oversee and manage the YPC (Youth Philanthropy Council) program
- Prepare Board Financials reflecting all of the above.
- Work collaboratively and respectfully with volunteers and donors associated with CFCC and its partners
- Other duties as assigned
Professional and Technical Responsibilities:
- Cloud-based CRM experience
- Competency or expert status with personal computers and Microsoft 365
- Strong knowledge of office procedures and confidentiality protocols
- Knowledge of business communications, including letter formats, telephone, and email
- Ability to take direction, establish priorities, proceed with objectives, work as a team player and positively represent the CFCC
- Excellent written, oral and customer relations communication skills, including news releases and social media
- Ability to tackle other duties as assigned that support the CFCC

Hours: Full Time, salaried. 8:30 a.m. – 4:30 p.m., Monday through Friday as a typical work schedule, with Board and Committee meetings and special events that could occur on weekends and/or evenings.
Salary
Exempt starting salary, range of $50,000 to $60,000, based on experience, skill and education.
